- 18/10/08 - Julian Opie Shop
-
Working with The Alan Cristea Gallery and Cesar Sesio, iUVO are proud to announce the launch of a bespoke online ecommerce website for Julian Opie.
Julian Opie is one of the most important, influential and popular artists currently working in Britain. His work is held in most major museum collections including The Tate Gallery, London, and MoMA, New York, and he has completed major public commissions in cities all over the world.
Julianopieshop.com is a groundbreaking website conceived by the artist to be an outlet for the ever increasing number of items he makes alongside his artworks. All of the objects for sale, from postcards and badges through to wall vinyls, reflect his ambition to break down the barriers between what is deemed to be ‘fine art’ and ‘everyday’. As an artist whose influences range from 18th Century portraiture to commercial trade catalogues, it is not only the imagery that is important to him, but also the way things are presented and packaged. Each piece on this site is carefully designed with the same sense of perfectionism that he applies to his artworks. The pieces for sale embody the ethos that the work should be available to everyone, everywhere.
